Suggestion: Tagging rules
« on: September 25, 2002, 03:08:39 am »

I just closed down Tag&Rename after a session of fixing my id3 tags and file names.
It might be a good idea to change the renaming system to be more sensitive. For instance "[ARTIST]-[TITLE]" should IMHO not be equal to "[ARTIST] - [TITLE]". Why?
well, you have this example:
Filename:
Bee-Gees - The Best Of - 10 - A song.mp3
ID3 tagging:
[ARTIST] - [ALBUM] - [TRACK #] - [TITLE]
Becomes:
Artist: Bee
Album: Gees
Track#: The Best Of
Title: 10

But if you tighten the rules a bit, this will never (almost anyway) occur. :)

Thanks for your time!

They're not the same in MJ.  Add the spaces, and it should work just like you'd want...

(if not, give a shout)
