You could try www.weblisten.com, bad tags (mostly) but good music and plenty of it to.

weblisten is for popular music and cost $30  month.
If you like indee- punk- metal ect ,Emusic is THE PLACE.
Price is $10 a month if you take a year ,$15 if you take 3 months.
You can download around 2000 songs a month.
Tags and download speed are top - really not the case with Weblisten-.
You can download a full album with only one click.
You can use the Media Jukebox/ Center download manager to download the songs ,in this case the art sleeve is downloaded with the album.
Both places give you MP3 at 128.
Weblisten give you Windows format as well if you want .
But in this case the tags are ,for a large part , inexistant

Weblisten is a very primitive and not cheap service giving you artists like U2,REM,Prince and so on.

Emusic is a very good service , cheap giving you 95% of all the indee music existing on earth.

Mix of both a solution.
But do not take more than one month  at once at Weblisten.
Things do not go smoothly and you have to monitor your downloads and to retag 98% of  the songs.
Hard work , i can tell you.
I take once a year one month at Weblisten ,i spend HOURS and HOURS in front of the computer to get the more i can - around 10.000 songs-
After that i tag and listen.
In one week i am starting my third year with Emusic.

Yes ,you keep the songs.
But you have to subscribe 3 months or a year.
You keep the songs as well with Weblisten.

I spend few months in Tahiti long ago. But i do not remember if they say mahalo or another word.
Look logic they use the same word.

i am not sure if they use the same words or not but much of the language is of the same dialect i think.

EMusic has been monitoring traffic and cutting off mass downloaders. Their terms of service agreement has some ambiguous language that to them justifies terminating heavy users - like the restaurant telling you not to bring a doggy bag to their all-you-can-eat buffet lunch.

The ceiling seems to be somewhere between 1000 and 1500 files a month.

Not sure , but look like they apply it to new 3 months subscription members.
Now at the start of my third year with them.
I had a BIG problem with my drives and lost 98% of my music.
I download like a mad since 2 months and do not get any message from them

I signed up for a 12-month period with EMusic about 2 weeks ago.

All the songs downloaded from them are duly identified within mediajukebox, and currently there are 1660 songs. I may have deleted other 50 to 60 songs.

Don't know whether this could be considered as heavy usage, but I'll keep you posted if I get any word from them in that sense.
