I went to see The Lord of The Rings - The Two Towers. I try to stay out of mainstream MovieLand but I love these stories. I've read all four books several times in the last 35 years. The parts of the movie that I like the best are:
1 - The scenery and special effects are really good.
2 - The characters are well developed and conform very closely to my mental image of them when reading the books.
3 - The character Gollum or Smeagol. He's entirely computer generated but seems very real. To me, he stole the show. There have been Gollums throughout the years but none has really hit it until now. He's perfect.
4 - The movie story-line conforms very closely to the book story-line. There are differences but the overall story is the same. I suppose a good story is a good story even in MovieLand ... sometimes.
If you like that sort of thing, go see it. Rent and watch the first one. I thoroughly enjoyed both.
