I love this skin! (in spite of hating WMP)   :D
It is one of only 3 skins I use.
Thank you

Question, How can I replace the background color?
You did a great job; the colors work well, you have good contrast, but for some reason I just feel I'd like it better with a less-dark shade in the panes. While I find myself shying away from white backgrounds because they are too stark and bright to be pleasing and soothing (thus preferring "Z" over "PixOS"), this background is not quite making me feel as warm and fuzzy as I'd like    ::)
Is there like one file I can easily change, perhaps a color sample or spec number I can easily replace to do this?  I know nothing about skinning buthave played around with various graphics software.

::: wondering how hard it is to learn to do skinning and wishing she knew how :::    ?

Me too - It's blue on blue!

ToMy00.  I have 2 entries in skin manager for this skin and the pointer points to both.  I also have 2 directories, 1 for Windows Media Skin and 1 for Windows Media_228.  I'd like to tidy things up a bit and delete what's not required.  Which one should I delete?

in the main.xml file there is a section called <list> under it you will find the colorback entry which you put on the code of the color you like..

Nila. To correct the blue on blue I changed the following:

edit the main.xml
look for <TOOLBARS>
then look for Entry Name="TopBar"
then change the value for <Colors Text
to 929DBA

If anyone out there knows if it's possible to change skins (any skin) to allow the toolbar buttons to display in their glorious full colour when inactive, i.e. when you are NOT hovering over them, please tell me how it's done.

ToMy00, how can I change the colorback value, for instance, in an XML file? I tried to type some of the value above, but nothing happened in the document.

What I mean is, how can I "open up" the document so it accept the new value I try to write?
It's hard to explain what I mean. Hope you understand?

Well.. sorry i got you.
you can do this by one of these steps:

1-right click the main.xml file and click edit
or...
2-open it with notepad or any text editor.

ToMy00.  I had a play around with the background color in the list and the tree to see if I could get it closer to WMP.  I think this is the color:  3A4570.

I'm not sure that it's better than what you used (282F4A) - but it's a closer match to WMP.  I can't make my mind up which one I prefer now!

Lisa - what do you think?

OK, I like this color selection (3A4570)  very much, BUT . .  I cannot say how it relates to the standard WMP skin as I do not have that installed.  Looking at the pic on Microsoft's WMP website, it appears a bit closer to the color ToMy used, yet perhaps a little off.
SO, it to me is simply a personal preference and a matter of taste.

ToMy00,
I have noticed that quite often, when I adjust the volume, I too easily hit Stop in error as they come very close . . . .
If you move the mouse pointer along the volume slider, at the very top edge of the slider, just as your mouse pointer hits or crosses the line of the slider bar you can see the Stop/Pause/etc buttons change to their mouse-over colors. clicking to grab the slider know will often activate the button function above.
Is there any way to seperate the 'mouse-over zone' a bit?

Ok I'm Confused.... Your screen shot looks nothing like what I loaded. Am I missing something??

ie, The icons beside Help on mine are not there.
Your search is ontop of the second pane, mine is on the first....
