Added A Requested Option To remove some info when doing cover art searches. you can turn this on or off

Basicly If this option is turned on It Will search the album name for a "(" if it is found it will cut the album name off.

Sample 1:

Search For: Aerosmith - A Little South Of Sanity (Disc 1)

Works great! Thanks...What service... Next place I am having problems finding art, etc... is multiple artist CDs. Your program seems to use the Artist name for each song, and not look for the various artist. MC seems to know a CD has multiple artists when it searches.

well one thing that can be added now that you say it is a lookup of the album name only.

One of the problems maybe If if The Album States "greatest Hits" it will come back with anything.

Your program has progressed tremendously since I last used it, KUDO's

I do still see a long-standing 'bug' in that it still needs to steal and maintain focus . . . . . IF you can get focus on another program it steals it back or stops, worst case it crashes.
Any plans to change this?
Other than that, it works great!

the problem is one of the controls i use (you can't see)needs focus to work correctly.

maybe if i re-write it using something else.

but if you want the lyrics, cover art and bios and use the batch under the cover art you can minimize it and no problems.

if you use batch and batch all for the chart finder option it may unminimize and gain focus.

You can Now set the field you wish to save the Crart Finder Comment To.

Default Is: Comment

I tested this on my "Custom 1" Field and it worked fine.

just type in a valid MC9 field in the box provided

Two questions / requests?

Any way to have this process files which are located elsewhere, other than in "Playing Now"? such as another playlist ('Recently Imported') or a hard-drive folder?

Any way to PAUSE the batching, rather than needing to STOP it, which when re-started re-process all files from the beginning of the entire list.

yes but this is the easy way for me

as for the hard drive, no since the program takes the info direct from the MC database and uses MC9 to do some of the work

well there was some changes in mc9.1 and that created a bug i guess, and i think that may be the problem. i think i read a fix for this with one of the recent builds of MC9.1

or i might have read it in a bug post or something.

I thought there had been such a thread, but paid little mind thinking that was over and gone. Running latest builds.
Tried to clear all those with bad dates (1899, 2006, etc) and re-run in chartfinder to get the correct tag, but there they are again

yea, it could be another bug.

If after the program runs and 1899 is in there i would say thats a bug or they made changes in MC9 that makes the SDK not compatable with the Current Version Of MC9.

I Just Looked At It

I think the problem is because they are using "Date" and Not "Year" and they did not change the SDK

Since The SDK Still Is Valid As

Year = MJFile.Year

When it Should Be

Year = MJFile.Date

Year = MJFile.Get("Date (year)", False)

I Just Posted a new build that turns off year filed saving if you have a version over 9.0.180 untill this gets fixed.

this will allow other optons of the program to work

Same version # however

Me thinks you are gonna grow to hate me for being such a pain
BUT

I find alot of CoverArt manually on Amazon.com when it cannot be found by MC9 or Chart, Lyrics, & Cover Art Finder.
This works well but is very tedious and time consuming.

Any way your program can search there?

I just manually imported about a dozen cover art files which had been lingering in my collection as "Task - No Image"

I.E.:

Ted Nugent - Double Live Gonzo
Gloria Estefan - Destiny
INXS - Greatest Hits

Perhaps they were not found automatically because of variations in naming?

if there is some extra junk in the album name i need to know that, but it worked for me.

there is an option to cut off extra junk in the album name.

Site #2 Is Amazon

make sure they are turned on to search Artiat And Album First And The Artist Name On Second Pass.

If it does not find the artist ad album at least it will find something.

I don't know if anybody has requested this, but would it be possible to include in some future build of the CLB&CA Finder the ability to extract the album release date from AllMusicGuide and load it into the Date (day,month,year) properties of MC 9.1+ ?

Was using .74 today and ran into a small problem - was looking up lyrics for the 10,000 Maniacs and all the searches were failing. After a bit of investigation, I noticed that the "," wasn't stripped out of the name and that leaving it in was breaking the http path.

Just a minor bug to fix sometime in the future...

I am seeing the same problem with .74 and MC 9.0.180 - all my years are being cleared when ChartFinder updates any tag (I have the year update option turned off in the setup pane). I noticed also that no matter what the year is set to in the tag, the chartfinder pane when that song is selected shows n/a for the year.

it may depend on

1. what version of MC9 your using since there was a slight bug in MC with the "Years" Field recently.

2. what version of Chart Finder You Have, 1.0.75 is current.

Since you provided no usefull information it is hard to provide help.

with the current version of MC9 and This program i see no problems.

Thanks for the program - it's a great addition to MC.

Two other questions:

1. Some of the lyrics I've downloaded are formated with no line breaks. Instead they have "[LF10]" where the line breaks should be. Any ideas how to fix this short of manually editing them?

2. I still can't get Bios to save in the file. It says they are found, but I don't see them in the Bios and Lyrics viewer or anywhere else. I've tried selecting and unselecting the "Append Bios to Bios Field" but it doesn't change anything. And is it possible to have the Bios saved in the Notes field so they are viewable in the various MC visualizations?

"[LF10]" came from the Lyrics database not from the internet. i might have broke something.

in MC9 you can use find and replace, just replace "[LF10]" with ""

I checked Both Out I Beleave It Is Due To Your Settings

I did find a a problem when the settings are not correct that some info in the Lyrics database is not filtered. and I already fixed that.

About the Bios problem I also beleave that is due to your settings, and or you must have a internet connection active when using the program.

You may wish to Reboot, Load Program press "Load Default Settings" Button and then test.

I have had moments where internet info was not passed from MC9 to the program when doing internet tasks and a reboot fixed it. the program uses MC9 SDK internet fuctions thru the MC9 SDK so if that is not working then you will get no bios pages to download.

at any rate it works here.

that is a MC9.1 Problem

they are still working out the bugs, that has nothing to do with my program.

for those of you who do not keep up with MC9 bugs.

this bug was introduced into MC9 sometime back not sure the exact build but sometimes MC9 will save dates at 1899 or 1905 no matter what it was before. i was hoping this bug would have been fixed by now maybe the next build of MC9 I just don't know.

Untill that time I would not use the program if this is going to screw up your dates. i think in the current Build if it has a date it works if it is blank it does save the date as 1899.

Untill Matt updates MC9 and the SDK this bug will continue.

Downloading Chart Grabber or Chart Finder are a little bit confusing.
Doesn't matter if you download the one or the other. You get the information that you are downloading Package "Chart Grabber" and when you are opening Chart Finder in MC 9 beta it tells you that there is a never version of the Finder.

1) www.lyricsstyle.com seems to be a dead site (at least, clicking on the button in lyrics page always results in a non-existent site)

2) LyricsDownload appears to also strip - and ' characters (check their site for lyrics for the B-52's)

3) GetLyrics, which seems to be the biggest site (and thus the one I'd like to have working

) has a number of interesting issues:

a) It doesn't strip out characters like &,',-,?, and commas, instead it inserts the escape characters for them (ie, & becomes %26) again, check the B-52's.

b) album and song titles need to be exact - I've noticed a few things that might be nice to try when the tagged strings fail: changing "and" to "&", stripping off anything in () at the end of songs, removing "The" or ", The" from the artist (B-52's are also listed as "B-52's, The").

c) Some artists have a variety of lyrics that aren't under an album and instead are under the album "Miscellaneous" (check out B.B. King lyrics) - it would be nice to try that album when the tagged album name fails.

So far, I just edit song titles, album names, and artist names to get things correct to download, but it would be nice to not have to do that...

Don't get me wrong - I love your program and am very happy with it - I'm just making suggestions for improvement.

Note that for getlyrics.com, the characters need to converted, not stripped...

For songs that getlyrics.com doesn't know the album for, they always seem to be under the album "Miscellaneous" (at least that was true for the 3 or 4 artists I looked at), so after failing to find the lyric under the right album, it would be worth trying that album name.

Sorry - I am not explaining this well. Let me give an example:

Artist: 10,000 Maniacs
Album: Blind Man's Zoo
Song: The Lion's Share

Navigating the www.getlyrics.com site, I get the following hyperlink to get to the lyrics page:
http://www.getlyrics.com/print.php?Artist=10000+Maniacs&Album=Blind+Man%27s+Zoo&Song=The+Lion%27s+Share

Running ChartFinder for the same song and site, I get:
http://www.getlyrics.com/print.php?&Artist=10,000+Maniacs&Album=Blind+Man's+Zoo&Song=The+Lions+Share
shown in the status bar as the link it tried and failed.

I've just realized that this is not because of the lack of a conversion to characters like %27, but actually due to the extra , in 10,000 and the missing ' in Lion's. Unlike LyricsDownload, which needed the , and stuff removed, getlyrics seems to need them.

Sorry for the confusion...
