Me and my early-adopting habit... :(

Not sure if this is an issue with the plugin or with the way MC handles the plugin, but either way, with the MusicLobby PocketPC plugin installed, my MC locks up hard.  Unfortunately, I clicked the box to start it with MC and am now pretty screwed.  I had to kill the process and manually remove the plugin from the plugin directory.  When I restarted MC, I was informed the plugin was missing.  I was able to go into the plugin options and uninstall it.

Since I paid for it, I figured I try again...installed...locked up.  I assume it is still set to "Autoconnect" even though it was uninstalled.  Where can I manually remove these settings?

I have to say, in the PPC side, it connected, found my currently playing info and looked pretty nice.  I was able to play, pause, etc.  When I went to browse by "Artists (Grouped) the PPC seemed to stop responding.  MC totally stopped responding.

I will post this over in the MusicLobby PocketPC forum as well.

Has anyone else tried it?  Any success?

Hi Thomas,

You don't want to remove the plugin by deleting it from the folder...naughty. :)

In Media Center, go to Tools > Plug-in Manager. Then selecter Interface > MusicLobby Server.  This is where you would uninstall the plugin.

Try completely uninstalling it in this fashion.  Then clear your playlist in Media Center and exit the program.

Then try installing the MusicLobby Server plug-in once again.

Let me know if the processor is still at 100%.

There was an issue in one of the betas where MediaCenter would continuously try and rebuild the thumbnails.

Can you revert back to the latest non-beta version and give it a try?

Thomas,

The plug-in can be uninstalled from your Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs just like a typical application. That will remove all trace of it ever existing.

You've got a few possibilities:

1) There was a release (or a couple) of MC that would continually autogenerate thumbnails. However, if it's only doing it with the plug-in...probably not it.

2) The plug-in may be getting stuck on a particular loop from an error. Please send me the error.log from your Media Center plug-ins directory.

Don't worry about the early adopting thing - we'll get it figured out.

Next I added the rest of my collection.  Fired up the PPC and clicked "Library"...MC immediately froze up.  Same deal as with the latest version.

What happens if you let MC go for a while?  Maybe it's just busy.

Drowbe,

Visit the following page and scroll down till you see the album cover troubleshooting section:
http://www.cinemaronline.com/musiclobby.help.html

I'd like to see if we can get everything working for you with a limited collection like you tried...14 albums.  Then lets see what happens when we start adding the entire collection. :)

Drowbe,

Can you try just installing the MuL Server plugin without even using the Pocket PC?

Also, I'd still recommend using 9.0.180 to eliminate any other issues and stick with it long enough for us to troubleshoot.

If you have a large collection, remove any files from the playlist.  I think the problem may be that when you add thousands of songs to the playlist all at once, it's bogging the system down.

Also, look in C:\Program Files\J River\Media Center\Plugins for a file called "error.log".  Open it up and see what the last errors are reporting.

Thanks.
