Grouping in AV
« on: March 14, 2003, 12:26:08 am »

Hi Guys,

Here's my problem. When i rip a double CD, for example Elton John - Blue Moves, it is ripped as follows...

Elton John - Blue Moves (Disc 1)
Elton John - Blue Moves (Disc 2)

AV doesn't group these as one but shows them as being two separate albums, presumably because the album title is different.

When setting up a DB i can add to the Sample Exceptions.txt any albums i don't want grouped. Would it be possible for AV to refer to a file for details of information it should ignore in the album title, "(Disc 1), (Disc 2)" etc. It could then group the albums together correctly.

I understand AV is doing what it is supposed to, but it would be a great help. I have to keep the naming as it is for the purposes of directory structure on an in car player.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Kev.

What I will do as add a tranlation table so you can say album x -> album y, then you can name them both the same name.

I will do that this weekend for you Kevvie.

I had a bit of a busy weekend so I didn't get a chance to put it in ... but I am going to do it today for you.
