Plug-in using help
« on: January 20, 2003, 01:45:00 pm »

Please bear with me if I sound little naive. I looked at the track info SDK. I am a bit confused.

If I write a plug-in, how does it get selected for use.
I downloaded one of the lyrics plug-in but I dont' see
it anywhere.
Do I have to specify the path in the template file.

I have the following needs and I don't know if it can work.

Lyrics for some of my songs (not in english) are on
the internet. I would like to have the lyrics come up
only for the files that have them. Can I specify the URL in the lyrics field? I can not use TRACKINFO_OPENPAGE_ in the template because the file names on the internet are different and not all of my songs have lyrics.
All of my songs have ape tags.

I am looking for fancy visualization.

Are you talking About The Template's?

You can see them in Playing now, when music is playing, and you must switch to that template.

I meant template. Thanks.
I am not sure if I made things clear what I want to do.
The SDK does not do what I want to do.

1. It requires lyrics to be part of the tag file. Not possible
for my non-english lyrics that are in html format. What
would be nice if lyrics field is allowed a URL value.
2. SDK does not allow keywords for any URL type fields
(Copyright, File, Artist, etc). I could have used
that field and fake it via a Lyrics button and
cause that button to read html file.
3. Any chance of enhancing thsi SDK

4. Does Media Center 9 allow URL support.
