Hi Rhino

Thanks for the improvements with beta 2.

One problem I have found is, in Overview, If I right click and select Sort By- then Thumbnail. The display changes, but if you pass your mouse pointer over any album you get a bubble with the wrong album info. Its like the pictures have moved but the info of that area stays in the same place.

I hope that you understand all that.    ?  ?  ?

I've been busy working a version that does updating.   I want to get this right before I release it.

With this new version you can:

1.  Update one or more albums artwork, either using the DB wizard rules or a specific image.   You can also update MJ to point to this image as well.

2.  Update the Year/Genre of one or more albums.   Again either using the DB wizard rules, a specific genre/year or use the most common value.   Again you can get Av to update the MJ tracks with this new value.

I haven't forgotten about the bug ... it's just that since this version involed writing to your MJ database I want to make sure it's 100% prior to release.

I have two more minor issues to resolve before I can release this version.

P.S.  It also didn't help that I got my copy of UT2003 :D

That all sounds very promising, keep up the good work.

Is UT2003 better than the 1999 version which was brilliant, and very time absorbing??

Best of luck with both!!

Time consuming is an understatement.   I was the clan leader of one of the most popular boards on the net and I was constantly arranging matches/practises etc.

Now UT2K3 is out I've started it all up again and I've already got a practise match tonight on my server for an hour or so :D :D :D

Looks like I'd better hurry up and get AV out the door as I can see my free time twindling very fast!

Twindling........

Is that a programmers only word.  Ha Ha!!

That's what playing games for hours does to ya, ruins yer eyesight, or is it twindling that ruins the eyesight.

Best wishes

Sorry for taking so long to reply, just been busy with home decorating etc :)

Hi Rhino.
Thanks for your good work!! The prog is constantly getting better.
One thing I miss (and I dont know if that would be a hard thing to implement) but I would really like this (and would for sure pay the license):

I still have many albums that do not have a graphic yet. When I use AV to display them, I would like to have a right click feature that lets me update the graphics for all tracks of this album the same way JRiver does it, i.e. from my own pics, from the internet etc.

Currently I have to switch to another view, update the album, go back to AV, and rerun the DB creation.

A function that allows me the update "on the fly" right inside AV would be really great.

Thanks

Updating will be in the next version.

You select your albums, right click on them and choose Update/Artwork.   You can then select a specific image or let AV follow the DB creation rules to reassign the image.   You can also tell AV to update the tracks with the image.

I can't do internet selecting as I don't know anywhere that will allow free programmatic querying/downloading of artwork.

Any chance you could release a separate plugin who only use the multimedia keys feature  :-/

Methinks this is one of the more puzzling ommissions from MJ.

No ... it's all part of AV.
