Tivo2Go support in MC11?
« on: December 20, 2004, 10:33:30 am »

Any chance Tivo2Go will be supported by MC11?
It would be really cool to be able to stream a video on Tivo into MC.  Really Cool!

Not sure if they released the SDK for this yet.

Thanks guys!

Most people don't have the software updates on their Tivos yet, but TivoToGo is here.  No way to test, but this link might help answer the question from your standpoint:

Thanks for the pointers, but it's not enough info. I'm still waiting on a reply from TiVo, keep reminding me here and I'll remind them there :)

Just an FYI .. but JavaHMO works for TiVo2Go transfers ... You might try talking with those folks ... I believe you have taken a different angle on how you respond to HMO Server discoveries which is why you wouldn't be compatible with the newer software ... Just a thought.

I'm rather looking forward to a TiVo Server upgrade in MC11 to work with T2G!  Of course, you would want to make certain that you are backwards compatible with those individuals that aren't upgraded yet or won't upgrade (who knows).   So a little CheckBox for T2G compatibility might be something you should consider ?

UPDATE:  Just an FYI.  I got someone from the TiVo forums to point their T2G TiVo at my MC11 PC and the Audio browsed, but he wasnt seeing the correct structure .. it was browsing my GENRE list ? "Warning: Bad URL argument(container) Details=Basic" kept showing up in the log window.  He could play songs though ... here's that error "Bad Request: Unknown Command /TiVoConnectCommand=QueryItem&Url=/TiVoConnect/161268"

When he went to look at the Photos section I got an "ABNORMAL PROGRAM TERMINATION" from MC11 :(

So, it's POSSIBLE to play to music ... but the structure is broken.  Photos -- Forget about it!

its been a week, figured I'd ask if there was an update ... I just don't understand why there are two other apps out ther that already work and you can't seem to find the info ...

Do you need help getting in touch with TiVo Personnel or protocols ?

I heard from TiVo, they said they'll get me the SDK as soon as it's ready. The others must be part of a beta

I think I can one-up that!  My buddy is in the beta (so I've been checking out the beta builds when I go over to his place, pretty sweet!)  ... and he connects to my MC11 with his TiVo and I also have the new TiVo Desktop (awaiting my software upgrade :( ).   I can get the logs from both and send them to you if you want!   It should give you enough info on the request protocol shouldn't it ?

I'm not able to use my TiVo with MC11 anymore, ever since the upgrade to OS 7 on the TiVo.  I get the bad url argument. Any idea how I can get this to work again? I'm using build 11.183 and I get the following error on MC when browsing my library:

Warning: Bad URL argument(container) Details=Basic

The only song that will play is the first song in my library, over and over again.

Hi Y'all,

I'll take a look tomorrow. If our TiVo's been upgraded, we should have the same problem too...

As I noted in a different thread, I'm working on fixing TiVo support - they've started using a piece of the protocol they didn't use before, and I need to add support for that.

The bonus is that it may (only "may") support TiVo2Go as well! Look for something soon here.
