I don't know how to write plugins but if someone is looking for something to do, try this:

MyIE2 has something called 'Mouse Gestures'. Basically you can perform commands with just the mouse.

example:

hold left, click right: goto next track
hold right, click left: goto previous track

hold right, up, down: refresh views

etc etc

I think something like this could benifit MC usage. What do you think and who is up for it?

I suppose it depends on your keyboard/mouse usage.

Personally I use the keyboard more than my mouse so I like my keyboards to have multimedia keys.

But it would be pretty simple to do ... just setup a global mouse hook (SetWindowsHookEx/WH_MOUSE) and watch for the appropriate button presses/mouse movements ... and no I'm not offering to do it

I'm just the opposite. I use the mouse more than the keyboard.

This sounds like a job for mouseman.

Rhino - I generally tend to as well. Keyboard is 100 times faster than mouse once you learn the shortcuts etc.

I dont find it too easy to use keyboard navigation in MC thou - do  you?

I use MyIE2, and I'm addicted to it's "Back" and "Forward" mouse gestures.  They basically do the standard Back and Forward toolbar functions, but involve holding the right mouse button down and dragging to the left or right.

It's sweet, I wish that it was universal.  Right-drag to the left a bit, and it goes back.

That's why I like the intellimouse explorer with it's thumb buttons as I have them defined as forward/back.
