?
Recently I was helping a friend download and setup a trial of MC9, and doing a demo of it's abilities.
During this demo I came across several of her mp3 files that are cross-linked or jumbled together. What I mean is that suddenly, in mid-song, the file is playing a totally different song . . . . then later on in the same file may switch back to the proper song.
I am not certain how these files got this way.
These could be some files which may have come from peer-2-peer file-sharing downloads and could have been that way when she got them.
Or could this possibly have occurred on her machine due to some data error? A data mix-up during defrag? Perhaps some type of bug? A weird virus? A plot by the RIAA to contaminate P2P with messed-up files? A virus spread by the RIAA to destroy the music collections of anyone who ever used P2P services?
I have no clue.
This could be just several "bad files" in her collection from some single source and really be nothing to be concerned about, but I am not sure.
So, I want to know if anyone else has encountered files in such conditions.
