Media Server conflicting with "Supertrick" ad blocker
« on: October 21, 2003, 09:27:22 am »

Supertrick is a method to automatically block internet ads from the most common ad servers by editing the hosts file on your computer to block certain addresses.  I hope it is legal to do this.
Anyway, supertrick works unless media server is running.   With Media Server running,  any time an ad is requested by a web page a promp dialogue pops up saying "Enter username and password for "Media Server" at ad.doubleclick.net"  or some other ad server.
I don't know if this is a bug or should I try to find a workaround?

Just a quick guess: try running media server on a port other than 80.

Thanks!  No more prompts after I changed it to port 81.
