Audible file playback in MC -- periodic pops.
« on: November 01, 2003, 09:29:24 pm »

I just noticed that when listenning to Audible files through MC, there are periodic "pops" in the audio which are not in the same place when playing that spot again.  These are not present when listenning to the same material on the iPod -- I am only hearing them with MC, and only with .aa files.

It sounds like little interruptions in the audio stream, but I don't ever hear this sort of thing with mp3's.  I haven't listenned to that many Audible files with MC (i.e. I usually listen to these on the iPod) but it's possible that this problem didn't always exist.  In other words, since I don't remember running into this before, this problem "may" have been introduced by one of the recent MC builds.

There are lots of possible reasons.

You may have a hardware problem.  It could be related to the burning (?)problem you reported recently.

Also check "via chipset" problems on google.

Creative sound card drivers also have been a problem in the past.
