There were major internal changes this build.  Please wait a few builds if bugs or crashes will upset you.

The latest known stable version of 9.1 is here:
http://www.musicex.com/mediacenter/download.html

I get the following error message after inserting an audio CD in drive D (my DVD-ROM):

I tried what the error message suggested without success.

If I put the same CD in drive E (CD Burner), all data is found from YADB successfully.

Thanks,

crow

UPDATE: For some reason it started working in both drives all of a sudden....But I did test a number of times when I first installed, and it failed every time, so it may still be some sort of bug.

Does this build correct the "crashing while analyzing files" issue?
I'm kind of hesitant to install this build.

Thanks.

This install blew up on me.

but after a reboot  I found that Media center loaded the new version.

Update: installed 293 over 293 worked fine. I first updated over 285.

Thumbnails will sometimes be greyed out. The image will show fine in the action window.
Update: It seems MC will reread the thumbnail upon restart. Maybe it's just a display bug.

Ever since the new analysing thumbnails method, there's no way to let MC build the thumbnails when idle (overnight).

If I import files, playlist=[Recently Imported] will show. If that is there and I import again, MC takes 20-100 times as long to show the files  (even if it's only 1 file). If I go to Playing Now first, then it takes less than a second.

In the options, under tree and view, try the thumbnails button.  I think you can get what you want there.

That just sets the thumbnail setttings. There's nothing in there about building thumbnails, just erase and orphans while exiting. I know in previous MC 9.0s version, there was an option to do that.

How about support for apev2 tags in mp3's?  ;)

(I know you've got better things to do..)

This is for the previous version, but I don't dare to try the new version yet.

I can't paste a multi-line string into a database field by pressing F2 and Ctrl-V.  Only the first line ends up in the field.

I'm trying to add lyrics to some songs and this means I have to switch to the tag info in the action pane, use the mouse to click the Edit button (no keyboard shortcut?), paste, use the mouse to click save (no keyboard shortcut?), and then switch back to the media library.

Being able to paste multi-line strings (containing CR/LF pairs) would shave off several steps, and make it much easier to navigate by keyboard.  This is especially important because sometimes I already have the lyrics for the same song but with another artist.  Then I'd just like to press F2 Ctrl-C Down Ctrl-V to copy the entire lyrics to the other version of the song.

Oh, and another thing:  Just like the action window can display a track image, it would be nice to be able to configure it to show the entire lyrics, or the entire artist bio.  Right now the only way to easily step through and verify the lyrics for a set of songs appears to be to add the songs to "Playing now" and use a track info template which shows the lyrics.  Using "tag info" doesn't work since it only displays the first line of the lyrics.

BUG

This one's been around for ages.
If your on a plugin in the left tree and press the play button - even if there is a HUGE list of files in the playing now - it says to add files to play and wipes the playing now playlist! :(

Any chance we can have a fix for the scrolling problem with Logitech mice.

I reported it weeks ago, I was asked to start a separate thread, several people added they were seeing the same, I bumped the post and still got no response.

Video Thumbnails preview (Same preview for EACH video file)
« Reply #15 on: November 04, 2003, 11:53:10 am »

Thanks for MC 9.1.290 update!
I beleive this is a bug (MC 9.1.290 up to MC 9.1.293)

Preview of VIDEO files stored on CD media works but...

When the CD media with video files is present in CD ROM and "List Style->Thumbnails" everything is fine!

When the CD media is NOT present in CD ROM, MC shows the image of 1st video as a preview of EACH video file

Please improve this as it's much easier to find particular Video "offline" having accurate preview and than get correct CD.

P.S. This wicked behaviour can be observed ONLY if you import video files
from CD media. If you import them from HD it works OK.

Please correct this.
TIA & RGDS

Sorry, Matt, I didn't see that (no auto notification for some reason).

It's only MC and Mozilla / Firebird that I see the problem in.  Not a big deal, just a nuisance.  When is 10 arriving?   ;)
