Media Center 9.1.297 available
« on: November 06, 2003, 11:53:56 am »

This is the latest build.  There may be some known (and unknown) bugs.

The latest known stable version of 9.1 is here:
http://www.musicex.com/mediacenter/download.html

The latest build of 9.1 is here:
ftp://ftp.jriver.com/pub/downloads/music/MediaCenter91297.exe

History
1. Fixed: Skin Effects were enabled by default.
2. Fixed: CD / DVD virtual folders had their first letter cut off in the tree.
3. Fixed: CD folders and CD virtual folders were using the same icon.
4. Fixed: With MC maximized, hot swapping of skins and skin effects wouldn't fully take effect.
5. Changed: Hot swapping of skins / skin effects faster.
6. Changed: By default, image playback caption no longer says "Playing" when playing. (still says "Paused" when paused)
7. Changed: When "Update from CD database" is selected and YADB doesn't find a match, MC checks for cd-text and cdplayer.ini info.
8. Fixed: "This Folder" was not working properly.

I'm stuck on build 290 at the moment as I held off upgrading for a while after seeing the warnings posted with builds 292/293.  Am I safe to rejoin the train now?

? The bug in Hairstyle is still in this build. Any chance this will be corrected in a future build?

For the love of volume control !!!!!

Is there any way to make the volume slider work when you have multiple sound devices, using different zones?

It used to work in mj8, pick your output device, volume control works.

Now it does nothing unless you are using the windows default sound device.

This make using multiple zones impractical if you can't control the volume within MC.

Doesn't matter if wave output or direct sound.  I know I'm not the only one with this issue.

a fix, please?? on the roadmap at least???

Ok, that's weird coincidence, I don't post much and the day I do, the ideal thread is started.  I will reply there, thanks.

Please report "the bug" with details.

Oh, it is the same bug I reported previously
http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?board=3;action=display;threadid=16523;start=msg112684#msg112684
This bug happens in Hairstyle but only in the thumbnail mode. The list mode works perfectly. After clicking on 'Start Selection' and selecting an album not the selected album will be played when clicking on 'Play' but all song in the Media Library.
I hope this can be corrected soon.

DVD playback is still broken for me. When I insert a DVD and double-click on it to play, I get the updating view dialog, and shortly thereafter a Media Core crash. The DVD never starts playing.

I get the same problem. You don't even have to try to play the DVD, it seems to crap out while reading the drive information for display. I notice we're both using Matshita UJDA740s...

Cheers,
John.

Note that "Matshita" is spelt M-A-T-S-H-I-T-A, but it seems YABB has other ideas ;)

The problem isn't the drive.  I think we've introduced a bug in DVD playback.
