iPOD Questions
« on: November 10, 2003, 09:11:41 pm »

So, I'm about to get an iPod and my question is this:

How much of a problem is it to use MC with iPOD?  I use MC to manage my music b/c I have Tivo with Home Media Option.  I love MC, but I've read that there are some hassles.  I've also read that there are problems with MC and iTunes coexisting.

Bottom line:  I will not give up MC b/c of Tivo.  So do I use just MC, or do I use MC to serve Tivo and iTunes to deal with iPod.

Note:  I am getting 40GB iPod and have about 25 GB of music.  So basically my iPOD will just be a copy of my PC.

Any suggestions?

Quick reply:

Generally, as long as you don't open iTunes with your iPod docked, all will be well. If iTunes gets a hold of your iPod, it'll mess up your iPod database, and you'll have to reformat your iPod and redownload all your tunes. Otherwise, all's well.  There were issues getting iTunes Music Store songs to play on the iPod when transferred with MC, but that's been resolved. Others have some other specific problems, but I've personally got none. As for me, I wouldn't use anything but MC for my iPod.

For future reference, iPod questions should all be posted in the designated thread. You'll get better, quicker responses there, and your thread will be locked pretty soon if it's not in that thread.

Good luck, and hope this helps,  :)
