I haven't seen any questions submitted on using the cd label printer in MC.  I have not had any luck trying to put track titles and artist on the two sides of the foldup paper label. I am trying to put 50 titles per side for a total of 100 mp3's.  The cut and paste method does not seem to work.  Cut works o.k. but paste does not.  I am using ctrl X for cutting and ctrl V for pasting.  Is this right?  Windows XP.  I load the 100 tracks in, cut tracks 51 thru 100 to clipboard, highlight the textbox on the second page and hit paste.  Nothing happens, but if I go ahead and print, the 1st 50 print o.k. and the entire 100 try to print on the second side.  Anyone shed some light on this? After highlighting the textbox on the second page, click the "add text" toolbar button. Now paste your text into the box in the "add text" dialog. If it is disabled (greyed out), choose "Custom" in the drop down box for text type.

Its not a good idea to use labels as the glue used in the labels can corrode through the upper layer of the cd and affect the dye on which the tracks are written. This results in shorter life-span of the CD-R.

The accepted way is to use a water-soluble marker instead. I have used a Sharpie for ages and have not found any problems so far.

Shapie claims their markers are safe.

Thanks for the answer, however I am still unsuccessful as follows:

After you change the text type to custom, the text window in the dialog turns from grey (disabled) to white (enabled). The text box should be empty. At this point you should be able to click in that text box and hit ctrl V and you should see the text appear. You can scroll through it to verify that it's correct. Remember that I'm talking about the text box within the "Add text" dialog.

On another tack, try this:
1. select the text box in the left pane of the fold-over cover
2. use the mouse to drag the right-hand "handle" (the little red square) over to the right side of the righthand pane
3. now you should have a long rectangle of text covering the entire fold-over cover. The text will automatically be divided into columns if they will fit. If there are 3 columns, you can make the box slightly smaller to force a reduction to 2 columns
4. click anywhere in the text box and drag it so the columns are positioned in the correct spot on each pane.

Hi again.
The first method doesn't work because you can't click in the text box with the add text dialog still on the screen.  Removing the add text screen and clicking ctrl V still did not paste text.  When I tried the second method, creating one textbox over both panels, The tracks from 1 thru 34 printed left o.k.  The tracks from 35 thru 68 printed o.k. except they were across the fold point.  Tracks from 69 thru 100 also printed o.k right in the middle of the second panel.  However a smaller lighter type version of all 100 tracks also printed in the second panel as sort of a ghost image underneath the other tracks.

I meant you need to click on the text box within the "add text" dialog. Then do the ctrl-v.

Are you sure you didn't have a second text box on the right side? If so, just select it and delete it. To reduce the three columns to two, make the text box narrower as in item #3 in my previous post.

A hundred times thank you, thank you.  I'm now producing exactly what I want in the cd insert.  The last suggestion to delete the existing box in the second pane did the trick.
