"Library Restore Failed" error ??
« on: November 12, 2003, 06:26:35 am »

What are the possible causes for a library restore to fail?
I have had this error several times and wish to insure I do not see it again.
Are there any "Do's & Don'ts"?

I haven't had a power failure, but have had libraries fail to restore.

As far as the Media Server I have not been able to get that to work   :-\
so I am running from a mapped drive.
One factor could be my weird network configuration . . .  my internet (DSL) runs on TCP/IP protocol, but my network connections are made over IPX protocol (parallel protocol layers running on the same NIC / network cable, network hub).
I can't help but wonder if Media Server is looking to connect with a TCP/IP protocol and getting thrown off by the IPX being there instead  ?

IPX and TCP/IP can co-exist on the same network.  If the TCP/IP works, Media Server will work.

The TCP is only operating my internet conection (DSL modem to Hub then split to each PC)
The network is only connected on IPX
