I just got my hands on of those new M$ Wireless keyboards with the new media keys and Intellitype 5.0. Unfortunately, MediaCenter does not appear to support the new Windows events that these keys trigger.
Upon consulting a M$ MVP, he said the onus was on the media player software to support the new API.
Details:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnwui/html/wm_appcmd.aspAccording to M$ the following players already support it:
IntelliType Pro Software version 2.1:
Apple QuickTime version 4.1
ATI Multimedia Center (native support in versions 7.0 and later)
Creative PlayCenter version 1.51.23 (OEM version)
Microsoft CD Player (Windows 98 and later versions)
Microsoft Deluxe CD Player (Windows 98 and later versions)
Microsoft Windows Media Player (native support in versions 7.0 and later)
Musicmatch Jukebox (native support in versions 5.10.0149 and later)
Nullsoft Winamp version 2.6x
Ravisent CineMaster DVD 98/99 and 2000
Real Networks RealJukebox version 2.0
Real Networks RealPlayer version 8.0
Sonique Player version 1.30.4
Voyetra AudioStation 32 version 1.03.09
Please address this issue, because as more of the keyboards get out there and given that these are now the standard API events, this problem will affect more existing and potential customers.
