Add new media types?
« on: December 15, 2002, 01:18:37 am »

Is there any way to add a new media type to Media Jukebox? Its database is pretty powerful and I would like to use it to catalog my collection sega/nintendo rom images.

by rom images I do not mean pictures, I mean binary files that are the image of what was originally stored on a ROM cartridge. These files are used in various emulators to allow me to play my older games on my new system. I do not expect MJ to play them (as if :) I just need some way of cataloging them all

You can do this by changing the registry value.  I think it's this one:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JRiver\Media Jukebox\DescriptionTypes

It should then show up in the advanced section of the import.
