JimH,
Thanks for the response and thanks to the chap (sorry forgot his handle) that posted a link to another forum thread for (skins) reading.
I am not trying to get the final word here at all......
I apologise if my posts are or appear to be vitriolic, but when one feels passionately about something that's often how comments may come out - plus I'm a direct person, I don't believe in 'beating about the bush'. If you have something to say then say it in as clear and a concise way as possible. I would like the 'no skin' option back (and I am not alone).
I understrand that MJ River do listen to what people want (hence wish lists, forums and the like) in general that's a good thing but please be careful who you listen to ie those with a developer bent Vs those with genuine functionality and usage concerns. I fall firmly in the latter group - perhaps I am wrong here but your admins and moderators appear (at least to the casual forum user, like me) to fall into the former.
Am I bothered that MC has user definable skins - no. Am I bothered that to have user definable skins has removed fucntionality and decreased performance to the point of getting hiccups in playback - yes.
Perhaps I am just a very minor percentile of the user equation in that I use MJ professionally in front of upto 1000 people. I want simple to use functional software that is reliable - I cannot afford hiccups in playback when I resize a skinned window.
Can someone (forum admins/moderators/developer) confirm the last version of MC to support 'no skins' and was it reasonably stable? Did it have BPM, per song DB and the better monitor control for visualisations? The reason I ask is that I would like to try it before reverting back to MJ8.
If not then I will have to revert back to MJ8 which leads me onto a question I have already asked, is it still a seperate development stream (will it ever have BPM etc) or is MJ8 now dead?
Laffer.
