I have been successfully accessing my music collection from work via Media Server for over a month with no problems.  Within the last week, I will be playing a song and it will stall.  I never loose the connection, but there are multiple pauses while it is playing.  I seem to remember someone complaining of this before, but can't find anything when I search the forum.

Any ideas?  I have tried restarting my router.  Streaming to Tivo via Media Server works fine.  I'm just curious since it seems to be a new problem.

What's your network configuration? Anyone else using the network?

It sounds like what you would expect if the network traffic had increased or if the bandwidth from the ISP had decreased.

Thanks for the reply.  How do I check if the bandwidth has decreased?  I have done checks on the speed using dslreports.com and I get a good download speed.  I have a D-link 614+ router.

I checked the log on my router and I have a ton of these:

Drop ICMP packet from WAN src:67.11.149.110:8 dst:67.9.151.52:0 Rule: Default deny

I know that this is the firewall doing its job and not letting in any unauthorized traffic, but could an increase in these greatly affect my bandwith.  I'm getting hit about 5 or 6 per minute.

5 or 6 filters a minute will not affect your bandwidth.

It's hard to tell what is going on between your DSL modem and your work computer. Any of the providers in between could be a source of a slowdown.

The only way I can think of to test this is to test the connection speed every so often and look to see if it is fast enough (time a file transfer from home to work).
