Sorry for my hiatus again ... RL needs to slow down

I would like to express my appreciation to everyone who has used my original Brushed metal skin and kept it updated. Nice to see that it didn't die out. I've noticed very impressive designs out there and I'm glad my original work (as rough as it was) helped all of you out. I never mind if others use my work to create an enhanced version. Keep up the great job!

MC has happily been keeping track of my music library and keeping it synced with my iPod. I've finally jumped into using MC to help with my images.

For those of you using MC with images, what is your preferred directory/filename structure. I really enjoy having MC keep my music organized in folders for me and would like to do the same with my pictures so that they are easily burnable onto a CD for archival purposes.

Filenames I dont worry about although I probably will once I've fully tagged the files:

Date - Event - Track # (order of pics) - People

or something like that.

I use a People/Places/Events scheme. That way, I can tag with multiple tags for the same picture (if I have a pic of "Jon" at a "Halloween Party" it will turn up under either selection). If I pick "Jon" under People, I see Jon in all different places; if I pick "Halloween Party" under events, I see everyone at the Halloween party, including Jon. Works the same for Places and People.

I like to use ~ as my delimiter, since it's far less commonly used than - is.

I use about the same naming schemes as for music:

h:\medienarchiv\[mediatype]\[genre]\[artist]\[album]
[artist] - [name] - [track#]

Some sort of redundant, but this way I can easily find the files without using MC (if I have to).

I just put them in directories by month and year, then I use a program called 'exifer' (search for it on google), that renames the files based on EXIF information.  The naming is customizable, and I have it set to name them something like this YYYYMMDD-HHMMSS.jpg

I figure there's no way to have duplicate filenames, and the filenames actually have a meaning, unlike the names that my Nikon gives them by default.
