I have been using the trial version of 9.1 to convert over from MMJ8.  I really like the program.  If I purchase 9.1 what future upgrades will I be entitled to?

You will be able to upgrade to any 9.x build for free with your version 9 license.

Although it has been this way sometimes in the past, there is no official word from JRiver as to whether or not a 9.x license will provide free upgrade to a version 10.x, so you better make up your mind assuming that this would not be the case.

Someone from JRiver will correct me if I'm wrong (as it's normally the case   )

If my memory don't lets me down, I did buy a licence for version 8 and can use the same with 9 - if this shouldn't be functioning I hereby declare that I bought everything and I'm not guilty

Not all can do this.

Details for Upgrades are normally released by J River prior to the next release, they may be free or an upgrade fee will be charged.

Buying MJ8 during part of the period where MC9 was being beta-tested, I was offerred the opportunity to purchase a license for both MJ8 & MC9.  This was offer clearly indicated on the purchase site.  

I would expect that unless it was clearly stated at the time of your purchase, then an upgrade will not be included.  I'd proceed on that basis.  

Should JRiver decide to provide an upgrade to MC10 at no cost then it will be a gift and you are that much further ahead, but I don't think I'd plan on it . . . . when was the last time your car company provided a Free Upgrade to a newer car (or MicroSoft to a newer OS, Dell for a newer PC, etc)?

But they are not the kind of people who will ask full price  for MC10 to someone who bought MC 9.

They may charge a fee for upgrade , this yes.

Hm. Then I must have bought a new licence for MJ9 - because at the time of my registration (22.7.2002) I don't think there was an MJ8-beta-program....

Very interesting. I did not buy again. I did a restore on 22.8.2003. Does that mean I don't have the right to user MC9?

Please don't get confused, because others will.

When you have J River's Server Send You Info on Your License It States Clearly What License You Own. you can have it send you this info any time you wish. just tell it you forgot your license number, it will then send you an e-mail with this info.

Also Users Who Bought MJ8 Prior To dec 3rd 2002 can use MC9 for free users who bought after that had to pay the upgrade fee.
