Hiya,
Wondering what remotes you guys use.
Preferably not tooo basic ones and ones that work with Girder so I can program them to work with any program.

All suggestions welcomed.

Thanks!!

Nila,

If you're looking to buy a remote control, I have two sugestions:

1)  Get one that is RF.  It's great to be able to adjust volume, etc. while in the next room.  I use the Remote Wonder (because it came with the 8500 DV AIW) and have no complaints whatsoever.

- or -

2)  Get an IR receive that works with any remote *and* lets you retransmit.  This way you can control other remote control receivers such as audio components, TVs, etc.  I bought the USB-UIRT and have been happy with it.

Pronto and IRMan.. .Simply no substitute to the wealth of PC based CCF's out there that save mucho effort (theres a CCF / GML pair repository also)...

To upgrade from that it would be a 802.11 PDA with Netremote or MusicLobby PDA version...

I use a remote that came with my TV card from Terratec.
It would be nice to be able to use it with Media Center :D

A remote is not enough for me. I'm using a very small (28cm*12cm) Infrared PC-Keyboard with an integrated Track Ball.
It runs like a normal PC-Keyboard with Mouse, so you don't need Girder or something else...

Just found this site:

http://www.vendur.com/english/ast.html

Looks pretty good, some nice looking remotes out there but I'm going to check out the ones mentioned here.

The REALLY annoying thing is so far we already have two remotes that came with it from the system and from the TV card - system is a MSI Mega PC and had a remote - doesn't work while in PC mode, and the other one is the remote that came with the Hauppauge WinTV but there are no drivers that make it work with Girder :(

ANNOYING!!
