MJ CD Player problems
« on: December 01, 2003, 09:56:32 pm »

Suddenly my MJ 8.0 started having problems while playing CD's. CD's play slow, like they are dragging. Also there is popping noises and distortion.
Real Player works fine, so does the Microsoft player. Problem must be in MJ software I think. Anyone have a fix?
Do I need to load the new MJ software to fix it?

Started when? Does it coincide with some other installation/update?

I was using MJ to listen to some CDs and rip selected tracks. I was then moving the tracks to a playlist. I think I double clicked on a new track while a track was playing (not while I was ripping). The program hesitated and since then it will not play CDs properly. I have no problem playing CDs on my burner in Windows Media Player. MJ still plays mp3 files great off my harddrive.

I wonder if I can just delete MJ and then download update 8.400 to try and fix this problem. It seems like an easy fix. What do I need to back up so I do not lose my license, music files, etc?
Will I need to pay for the program again after the free trail expires?
I'm not sure I want 9.1. It has a lot of features I will not use.  Thanks

Uninstalling would be a good idea. Under MJ>File, listed there somewhere is a method of backing up your library. Under MJ>Help, you should see a Backup License menu option. I don't recall the exact path. I would restore the library last (after checking CD playing functionality in the new build).

Not if your license is valid...simply restore via MJ>Help>Restore license
