Not Exactly Happy

Warning: Rant

I'm not exactly happy with the new v10 Licensing Coming out.  I registered right around Oct 1 for 9.x, under the impression that 9.1 would be the next release and that the license would be good for a least a while.

http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?board=3;action=display;threadid=9766

2 months later, I'm supposed to pay another $20 to use the program?

I use this primarily for iPOD support, and iPOD support isn't even finished being hammered out in 9.1 (Currently we are plagued by missing playlists).

The support here is great & needs are attended to with great support & speed, but I'm a little (what's the best word here) offended, that after I just gave you $40, it'll take another $20 to be able to get a program with all the iPOD synching bugs iron out.

For those with v7 or 8 licenses or people who've had v9 license for x years, this may make sense and I'm sure I'd be much more willing to pay after that long, but I'm gonna have to think hard about sending you another $20 (hopefully not too long cuz then it may jump up to $40, which is a definate no).

Am I alone on this? If so I'll just shut up & figure it out myself.

End: Rant

Well, upgrade will be half-price for a while...  meaning $10, right?  For ten dollars (the price of a good six-pack of beer), I won't begrudge JRiver the cost.

Yeah, I think it'll only cost $10, not $20...the licensing is in a thread here somewhere.

Also, I'm pretty sure (though not 100% sure, I'm sure JRiver will correct if I'm wrong) that they will continue to support v9.1 and the iPod plugin. They probably just won't continue to develop 9.1. If there are bugs, I'm sure they'll fix them.

BTW, I haven't been following the iPod thread that closely lately, but didn't Steve fix that playlist problem?

Good luck,

9.1 was the next release. It's been released.

10.0 is new and just barely entered beta today. So it won't be released for quite some time.

Don't let yourself be confused by betas and releases.
