Stopping Cover art slideshow running

Whenever I play a track that has cover art, media Center insists on showing me this art in full screen. Is there any way to turn this off?
I have changed the image playback options unticking start slideshown automatically but this seems to have no effect.

One other thing, is there any way to change the default mode of videos to windowed?
