Search Bar
« on: December 11, 2003, 08:12:53 am »

I have come to accept the new Seach bar size and location... But I can not stand the way it expands.. Is there any way at all that you will change this?? How about leaving it fixed. If some one is typing rules into it, Then maybe a right click option to Zoom??

Oh well,,, Can't please everyone all the time I guess...

I don't mind the new location, and even the expansion is OK. However, what bugs me is the lack of room for editing smartlists - anything reasonably complicated shrinks the playing now display to nothing.

If there were a way of temporarily zooming in, or detaching the search field to a separate window, that would be perfect.

In general all the interface changes in MC10.1 seem to be heading in a good direction - simpler, faster. I like it.

yA,

That's what I was getting at with right click Zoom..

I use Access at work, And when you click on Zoom in a Query it brings up a second box... That would be better then the search bar resizing itself...

"Liked it better the older way"

The search bar has become my main entry point in the media library (CTRL+F + few keywords and there you go). Thus, having it moved and resized to a somehow "secondary" position doesn't fit *my* use.

P.S: I would LOVE to have the equivalent of the "play" mouse action on all matching items when pressing RETURN in the search bar... Yeah, I'm a keyboard fetischist !

UPDATE: Huh, forget it ! SHIFT+ENTER is just fine. Never noticed it so far. Me nerd...

P.P.S: What about allowing RegExp ?... only joking !  ;D
