Songs Cut Short in 8.0
« on: December 07, 2002, 07:59:42 am »

I downloaded 8.0 and most of my songs got cut short when playing.  I put the old 7.0 back but the songs still get cut short.  It's like 8.0 chopped the files in half.  Songs that used to play i.e. 3 minutes now are only playing 10 seconds.  How do I get them back?

First...check out the files on some other player (like WMP) to make sure they're OK.
Now check out your MJ settings (Settings>Options>Playback) and fiddle with them.

Did you install v8 right over v7?
If so you may want to...
Backup license...uninstall MJ...update anything updatable...reinstall MJ (bld 393)...restore license

Songs get cut short in Media Player and Real Player also.  Something happened to make these files shorter (or at least be recognized as being shorter and cutting into their playing time).  Any more thoughts would be appreciated.  Fooling with the settings in Media Jukebox didn't help.  Thanks!

What kind of files?  If you're playing from a CD try switching the "use digital playback" setting in MJ.

It could be the sound card driver.  Try reinstalling your sound card software.
