You may need to update QT.  Please start a new thread if that doesn't work.

You may need to update QT.  Please start a new thread if that doesn't work.

Version 6.5 installed. This is latest version.

I'm not the expert on this, Mike, but I think if you install iTunes, it also installs the latest version of QT and that you can then play their iMusic files with MC.  MC uses the QT playback engine for this.

Maybe someone else can help out.

I have no problems playing .m4a, .m4p and .mp4 files using version 9.1.316.  Unfortunately this version cannot edit the tags.

What is the file type (i.e. .m4p) you are trying to play? Does the file play if you open it in Quicktime?

I just created a file using Nero's AAC encoder, and it played fine in MC.

It was a straight AAC file Steve. Have to check, but I believe it was faac creation (foobar). I could also try the the other extensions to see how MC handles these as well.
