Critical Error
« on: December 21, 2003, 11:30:28 am »

I just installed the trial version of Media Jukebox 8.  Previously using v7.2.  I am getting an error message every few moments: "Media Jukebox failed to save a necessary database file.
Saving:C:\Program Files\JRiver\Media Jukebox\Data\temp.jmd
as: C:\Progaram Files\JRiver\Media Jukebox\Data\mediafiles.jmd"
The program appears to be running okay but the "Critical Error" dialogue box won't go away.  Any suggestions???

I Would delete the databases and rebuild them

you will lose your playlists

===================================

going from one version to another with a new database i have never found to be perfict, and i found it more of a problem going from MJ7 two years ago to MJ8 more of a problem.

i think going from MJ8 to MC9 was smoother, and MC9.1 to MC10 no problem since the dbase format is the same (i think)

No...deleting the library (MJ>File>Library>Clear Library) does not delete the actual media. You ought to convert those wav's to ape...if you want keep them lossless...and decrease their size by ~ 1/2.
