Controlling MC9 via Winconnect
« on: December 23, 2003, 09:42:32 pm »

Currently, you can not use Thinsoft's Winconnect to control MC9 if you want to leave the audio at the serving computer and just control it from the client. I am trying to use MC9 with a multi output audio device to feed 4 zones from a music server with the controls located remotely, in the zones. With Winconnect when you try to play a song from the remote client (zone), you get an "Error starting playback ......" window because it is trying to play through "Microsoft RDB Audio Device". Is there any way MC9 can be "hardwired or coded" to  play through the music server's device. I wouldn't mind signing in as different users from the different clients in order to get different outputs in the four different zones, ie, client 1 in zone 1 starts a copy of MC9 on the music server that enables output 1 of the audio hardware device that I am using in the server; client 2 starts another copy of MC9 that enables output2; etc.
