Anyone Planing an iRiver IHP-120 Plug-In?
« on: December 20, 2003, 03:51:04 pm »

I've recently acuqired an "Ipod Killer" the iRiver IHP-120.  This thing is the bomb!  16 hours of play time between charge.

While it's easy to drag and drop files (it's a 2.0 usb drive as well) I was hoping I could sychronize files from MC.

Any info is appreciated!

Does the iRiver IHP-120 appear as a removable or fixed drive on your PC?

bradesp, the IHP-120 appears to have a optical digital ouput port.  Does it have coaxial digital out too?  Do you know if you can connect it to Dolby 5.1 powered speakers like Klipsch. or Dolby Digital receivers?

The iHP-120 shows up as a removable drive.  You CAN simply move the music files like to anyother drive.  BUT, it requires software to create a "database" of the id3 tags.  So without a plugin, you would only be able to search via the folders you have setup.

Thanks mooseman.

One more question, do you know if the iHP-120 is WMDM compatible? To check within MC, go to Tools->Plugin Manager->Portable Drives->Configure and select 'Enable WMDM support'. After this, look to see if the player shows up and can be accessed under CD DVD and Handhelds. If you could post the results, that would be great.

Thanks,

Steve

I tried that, and I see the drives for my 7-in-1 media card reader, and the Nero Fast CD-Burning plug-in, but not the iHO-120.  :(

It looks like we will have to write a plugin for this then.
