Iriver IHP support ?
« on: December 29, 2003, 07:10:56 pm »

I've seen the question posed here once before, a couple months back, but i never saw any of the admins/mods give an answer to this. So what's the deal ? Are there any hopes of my IHP-120 getting support from Media Center ? I would love to use the syncing option as well as the playlist features if possible. As things stand, when I expand the my computer list, the IHP is seen as a drive letter and not a hand held. When I right click on it, I'm given the same options as all the other drive letters accross my partitioned HD's. But no sign of being able to sync or anything else.

Pretty, pretty please with lots of sugar, whipped cream, hot fudge, caramel, prelines and cherries on top !

This might be a good move considering the Microsoft/Iriver colaboration...Just a thought.

I second this request.  There are many other audio enthuists waiting for iHP1xx support by Media Center.

Refresh for me the answers to the following questions....

If you copy files to this player from Windows Explorer, are they recognized and playable by the player?

If not, if you go to Tools->Plugin Manager->Portable Drives->Configure and check "Enable WMDM support", is the player recognized by MC?

Then our next course of action is to try to get an SDK from iRiver so we can build a plugin to support this. We will do what we can.

While we're at it, I'd love one for the iRiver iFP-380T.  It's a 128MB flash drive.

Steve, if you'd like us to contact them (like with the iPod) and ask them to help, let us know and we'll email them.

Thanks,

Thanks for the offer to help. The next players we want to go after support for are the iRiver and the Dell Jukebox. We will pursue this asap.

Subscribing to this topic so I'll know when you have the iHP support. Just switched from an iPod, primarily because I can record a Windows streaming audio file and play it natively on the iHP.
