     I like this program/software very much!  It has a lot of features no other jukebox I've tried has!  The quality playback is superior!  There's only one problem every time I launch the program it automatically disables Windows default setting for navigation sounds in the control panel.  I always have to open the control panel; sounds option and reset it to Windows default.  Why is this program (Media jukebox) doing this?  By the way, I'm running Windows XP professional.  Thank you in advance.

I don't think MJ will do that.  At least I don't remember it being reported.

Sound card driver?  You might try updating it.

I beg to differ, music jukebox terminates some sound default features in Windows XP.  I have a Creative Labs Sound Blaster Live! X-Gamer 5.1 with the latest update drivers for Windows XP.  Losing the specific specified sound default features in control panel, sounds does not occur UNTIL launching the program music jukebox.  I have made repeated tests to verify this theory.

What playback mode are you using in MJ? WaveOut or DirectSound? DS is much better for W2k & XP than WO. May help..May not. Worth a try.

That may depend on the sound card (wav out vs direct sound).  Wav out usually works.  Direct sound often does.

I'm having the same problem running MediaJukebox 8(latest version) on my WindowsXP Professional SP1 system. My sound card is SoundBlaster Audigy with the latest XP drivers. I just didn't realize which software was the culprit--well, now I know. Can anything be done about it? Admittedly, it's a minor glitch, but it IS rather annoying.

I just got Media Jukebox a few days ago... after learning it uses LAME as its encoding engine... and I've been very happy with it thus far...

Except.. I have to concur with the problem that's occuring here.  I do not think this is a driver issue, as Creative Lab's sound driver has nothing pertaining to the sound theme of the OS.

This has to be some sort of a software issue somewhere.  Whenever I start up Media Jukebox, it will change the sound scheme of Windows XP.  Sometimes it will return to normal after I exit the program, and at other times it will not.

Also, the Media Scheduler only works when I manually enable it, when I use the options to enable the Media Scheduler, it will always close it as soon as I exit the option box.
