I have tracks on two CDs that I'm unable to copy correctly using MC (or, indeed, any other copying program). I'm hoping someone here will shed light on how to copy these.
Both the albums are copy protected but by using Single Session Mode on my Plextor CD-ROM I am able to copy the albums (and any other copy-protected albums) without any problem. I don't think that's anything to do with the problem.
The first album is THINK TANK by Blur. The first track, Ambulance, is over twelve minutes long on my CD player. When I put it in my PC, however, the track registers as just over five minutes. Digging around, again using Plextools, I found that the PC thinks that the first track starts six minutes & 48 seconds into the disc, and every copying program that I've found says the same thing. I can't find any way to persuade the PC to copy the full twelve minute track - it only ever sees this truncated version. Can I force the PC to start at the real 0:00 point of the disc rather than the start point it seems to be being told?
The second album is DAS CAPITAL by Luke Haines. There is a hidden track on this CD which is accessed by putting the CD in a regular player and rewinding four minutes from the start of the disc. Is there any way of copying this into MC? It's rather good.
I suspect the problem in each case is connected - it's something to do with logical vs. real track start times - but if anyone has any idea how I can rip these two tracks it would be much appreciated. Thanks.
