Media Center won't start!

When I try to open MC 9.1.316 I get the following message:  "Media Core has encountered a problem and needs to close".

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Did you try a reinstall or an uninstall and reinstall?

Try also downloading again, but do not use a download manager to do it.

Yes Jim, I've tried the uninstall and reinstall.  Even tried with version 10+.

I've had this problem before with version 9 and you help me by suggesting I delete some file.  I've tried searching for that thread and can't find it.  I assume it's expired.  I thought I had copied and pasted your solution into a text message, for future reference, but I can't find that either.

Thanks for the response, I appreciate any help you can give.  Although it's on a day and a half, I'm already fed up with WMP.

I have to apologize for my stupidity.  I had tried reinstalling the program, however, I did this with deleting the old folders.  I now am back up and running.

My apologies on again.
