9.1.316 broke tags for me
« on: January 20, 2004, 11:32:18 pm »

Now in 316 tags are completely broken for me.

If I rip a CD, it doesn't save the ID3 tags in the resulting MP3 files.  The MP3 plugin is configured to save the tags, as always, but it doesn't save them.

The songs do show up correctly in the database, so this is a very NASTY problem because if you aren't paying attention, you could rip a whole stack of CDs and not discover that the ID3 tags weren't written until much later!

Also, 316 doesn't recognize WMA tags at all upon import of existing, tagged WMAs.  It just dumps them all into <Unknown>.  I've tried re-saving the tags using Windows Explorer and Dr.Tag but Media Center still doesn't recognize them.

Please help, I don't mean to whine but I really do not need more features, I just need a product that is 100% rock solid at the core functionality of a jukebox.  I would never have upgraded to MC but after MC development started, MJ updates got buggy so I had to switch.  Does this mean I have to switch to MC10 beta and go through that whole grief in order to get a reasonably working product?  I hope this isn't considered a troll or insult to the developers, this is honest customer feedback.

thanks,

KC

i don't think anyone else has had this problem.

Maybe you have a problem with the current install.

you could try to reinstall overtop of your current install.
