command for Silent Import Media?
« on: January 23, 2004, 10:51:35 am »

I'm trying to figure out any way to do a Silent Import.(Import Media) Basically, We want to rip CD's from a remote computer on the network and copy the files to the Server.

Is there any way for the server to automatically recognize the new files in the directory? Are there any current plug-ins that have this feature?

Thanks

Hi.

I had a similar need some time back.  You can do it from the command line using mjextman /import <filename>.

However, the problem is, that you can't give it a directory name nor wildcards, but you have to give it just one complete filename.

So, you'll have to write a script to iterate through the directory and call this command on every new file.

There's also a /SilentImport command line parameter if you don't want it to disrupt the UI.

why do i have to specify the file!!... why not a directory. i can't see the purpose of the import commands if you have to specify the filename !!
