Is there a reason why the Media Center icon in the systray acts differently than *all other* icons in there (currently up to about 15).

For all other icons, a double-click is required to restore the application.  Media Center breaks the paradigm and uses a single click.  The end result:  I can't figure out why MC doesn't retore the application with a double click.  Of course, it's really restoring and minimizing it, but my computer is so blazingly fast I don't see it.

Please consider changing this.

This seems to come down to preferences, both on the part of the developer and of the user. Some of my applications use a single click, others use double. I agree that it would be better if there were a single standard, but I would be partial to single clicks.

We'll see if we can make it follow the Windows settings.  I prefer single click now, but I understand that many folks prefer a double click.

Yeah, I understand people have different preferences...  there's that crude altruism about opinions and the termination of the digestive system.

But there appears to be a defacto standard, judging from the nature of all windows applications  (removable devices, outlook, messenger, etc.)  Then I might point out the other "big name" applications, but I only have NAV installed.  The remaining ten or so cats-and-dogs installed on my system require double-clicks as well.

What applications (besides MC) require a single-click?

I think I wouldn't have even brought this up if it hadn't changed (recently?).

Umm, I wonder if we're talkng about the same thing.

"Exporer -> Tools -> Folder Options -> General -> Click items as follows" lets me choose what happens when I click on items on the Desktop or within Explorer.  But it has no effect on icons in the system tray.

Nonetheless, I'd agree that using this setting to choose how to effect the systray icon is a good compromise.

Sounds like a good idea to me.

The rest are all small name programs, all my professional programs (programs costing upwards of $100) require a double as does the windows standard items, scheduler, volume, etc. etc.

Thanks for the list, Marko...  I don't have any of those installed, so I would have never known.

So then, I wonder if JRIver would rather be en the class of those five, or in the class of Microsoft, Symantec, Sygate, etc.  :-)
