Hi,
I wiped my library and tried to re-create it and the import hung with the CPU constantly > 95% utilization. I could not cancel the import even though the button was shown on the dialog. In the end I had to cancel MC using task manager.
Upon tracing I found that it was one MP3 file that was causing MC to lock up. If I moved the file out of "C:\My Music" then the import works. Also opening the file in MC via File/Open Media File hangs MC.
Since WMP can play the file successfully and show the tag information, etc, I suspect that MC's tag reading code has changed and/or has a bug.
Even if it doesn't MC should not lock up or at least allow one to cancel an import.
Let me know if you want me to email you the file for tracing.
