This past fall, playcount synching with the ipod was in an early stage of development. Without getting into too many details, I had a bit of a mess up and effectively wiped out my playcount totals of the past two years...
When this went down, there were some *extensive* changes to my database structure since the date of my last backup. I elected to reset my playcounts and continue on.
Now I'm wondering if there is any way to bring them back.
I'd be great to crack open the playcount field and input the changes... but that field appears to be locked.
Another idea i have is to restore the old database and use it to generate a smartlist where each song occurs as many times as it has spins. I could then transform that into a regular playlist and let it run while i sleep thereby updating the current database. The only problem is that i dont think you can have the same song occur more than once in a given playlist.
Anyone have any thoughts? Is there another way to workaround this?
