ASX problems
« on: February 16, 2004, 09:50:50 am »

Hi,

Im trying to play a web camera on MC. This is Star Académie (Québec). This is like american idol or Star Academy on Québec. I try to play the url given on thier web camera. If i use it on Windows media player, it play without problem, but on MC it cant play (give an unknown error).

You can try this url on your Windows player and MC to see the problem :

http://24.200.250.235/star

I have looked the properties on Windows media player, the codec of the video is in Windows media 7, and the audio like this :
Windows Media Audio 9
32 kbps, 22 kHz, stereo (A/V) 1-pass CBR

Just thing that i have tested, its on Winamp 5. The web camera cant play too...

That URL doesn't work in any player for me.

Do you have any other URLs we could test?

Thanks.

Ok, i dont know how they can do this but this streaming is available just for the provider users that show too this web camera.

There is a problem i think with the Open URL of MC. I have clicked on the link that i have given at the top of this thread. I have clicked on Open in my browser and MC have opened the file and have played it. When i put the same url on the Open URL of MC it give an error and cant play the stream. But this is the same URL that i have copied in.

Is this issue will be fixed soon? Why a stream can play when you click on a link but cant play when you enter the same url in Open URL in MC? mmmm....

Try the Cartalk radio show:
http://www.cartalk.com/Radio/Show/online.html

I haven't been able to get their segments to play since they changed over to ASX from RA ...

I can play the segments there (#1 and #3) with MC 10.1.071.

My MC9.1(316) can play the individual segmets only occasionally, and never the entire show.  Either gives me the same "media player error + some 0x memory location".  Can MC10 play the entire show?
