INVALID DATA RETURNED BY YADB
« on: January 02, 2004, 09:29:52 pm »

Hi....I am a newbie ....this is my problem...Every cd I try to rip and encode to mp3 from my collection I get the message " Invalid data returned by YADB "......however when I first insert the CD into the drive....Windows XP Media comes up....recognizes EVERY cd title and correctly lists all the tracks??? What am i doing wrong?? Just bought MJ but it sure wont be easy encoding it MJ's own YADB does not recognize cd titles and tracks and I have to manually do this off of Windows media player whcih does recognize all my cd's.....I did try looking up FAQ and I did double check ....."Why doesn't Media Jukebox get the title and track name information for my CD?".......and I double checked the " enable online cd lookup " is checked!!! Just went thru 15 cd's//////Windows Media player recognized every one......MJ did not recognice not a one.....what gives?? Thanks for all your help.....bob

Hi Bob,

Something busted. I don't know what yet, but I'm checking on it.

What do you mean "fixed now" ??  I've got the same problem and that answer doesn't help me much.

Hi Rick,

I just checked and everything seems fine. Could you give more details about what's happening?

John,

I just sent you a note (just getting anxious) but I'll explain again.
When I rip or play a CD I used to see the Album titles and song titles and they would copy to my data base as well. Now it doesn't do that.

What happens when you right click on the "Compack Disc" in the tree, and choose "Update from database"? An error message?

John,

I right clicked on the disk and then clicked update and presto it got all the titles. thanks.
Is there a way to get theprogram to do that automatically?
I have the button in the options section clicked for going out to the web to get info.
