Directx Host: Disappeared Plugin in the list!
« on: August 28, 2004, 05:41:26 pm »

I have Registred versions of Media Center 10 (now 11...) and Izotope Ozone 3.04 DirectX plugin (http://www.izotope.com/products/audio/ozone/) (i used it with DirectX Host).
It worked perfectly until i logged with another account on my Xp Pro.
Ozone asked me for the registration again and while i was in a hurry i clicked on "cancel registration". (i registered it regurally in my main profile).
Now Ozone completely disappeared in the plugins list under DirecyX Host and it seems to me there is no way to "reset" that list and make me use it under Media Center.
The Ozone plugin works perfectly under other audio programs i have (Adobe Audition, etc.) but DirectX Host doesn't display it anymore!
I tried to uninstall everything (Ozone, DirectX Host, Media Center), and to delete all registry entries about these softwares, then i re-installed the softwares, even in updated versions!
Please help me, can the DirectX Host programmers answer me? I have payed for these softwares, is there any way to let me use them?  :'(

You are not alone! I had the exact same problem with the High Frequency Stimulator plugin, from RGC audio. One day it was there, the next day it was gone. There was nothing I could do to reinstall it.

We have payed and registered our softwares!
Can the programmers of "DirectX Host" give attention to our problem?

After using Directx Host I got the registered Adaptx version which is the exact same product. I had that same problem and this is what they told me to do and it has worked for me everytime.
Close the host app (e.g. Winamp/WMP).
-Open regedit.exe
-Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\DirectShow\DxEngineCache and delete
this registry key.
-Open the host app again. The missing plug-ins should now appear in the
list.

Absurrrd rocks! I deleted that registry key and there was the HF Stimulator.

Thanks for that tip.

gee,
All this high praise for one helpful hint is making my CD-Rom Spin. Maybe i'm on a roll. If any of you guys wondered what made me go get the registered Adapt-x. It's because the registered one works on Windows media player. And if you checkmark Windows media output. under Media Center options Playback video. Then your Directx plugins will work with videos.  ;) also works for WMP DFX.

PS, I couldn't get Adapt-x to work with RGC audio. :-\
