Creative Labs Remote and MC 9.1
« on: March 10, 2004, 10:58:20 am »

Forgive me if this has been covered before, but I am building an HTPC and have a Creative Labs Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Soundcard for audio.  I am wondering if MC 9.1 (or 10 for that matter) can be controlled (basic functions) with the remote included with the creative unit?

Thanks.  ?

Hi,

I don't which remote you have (RM-1000, RM-1500,...), but I'm wanting to do the same with my Audigy 2NX USB with RM-1500.

I was searching around for a solution last week and the only real hit I got was uICE at mediatexx, but as far as Creative goes it currently only supports RM-1000 and some older units.

After contacting the company I got a reply that they expect to support the RM-1500 in their next release, which should be happening in a couple of weeks.

Check out www.girder.nl to see if their software supports your remote (and by remote I assume you mean some sort of IR receiver).  Girder provides the most powerful and flexible solution when it comes to controlling MC or anything else on your HTPC.  MC is shipped with a sample Girder configuration file (.gml) in the ..data\extras\girder folder that will help you get started.
