Date on re-rips
« on: May 05, 2004, 12:51:22 am »

I'm not sure if this is by design or not, but I re-ripped some CDs at a higher bit rate and MC still sees them as being imported on the original date.  I would think that a re-rip would count as a new file with a new import date.

Depends on how you do it. I'm in the process of upgrading a lot of my library, and I name the files like the originals are named (using Psychich MP3) and instead of importing them the regular way I first do a "write library info to tags" and then "update library from tags". That way I keep the original import date. If you haven't deleted the original files from the library (only from the harddisk) that may be something like what's happening here.

Larry,
I've moved this because it's likely to generate a discussion.
