Bug from previous builds:

Quote
Following this sequence of events causes full screen view to crash:

Start in standard view with a track playing and toggle round the following commands:

mjextman.exe /MCC 22009,3 to display theatre view
mjextman.exe /MCC 22009,2 to display Full screen
mjextman.exe /MCC 22009,0 to display standard view

This rarely hapens on the first time round but on the second time round the loop MC will not display Full Screen from Theatre View.  All you get are the tool bars at the top or bottom.  You can recover it using the glass skin by selecting Audio in Theatre View to go to the page with a vis in a PIP.  Then you can select Full Screen OK.

This bug is completely recreatable every time and has been around for quite a few builds now.

Let me know if you need any more info or if I'm doing something wrong.

Doubleclicking on an imported WinWord file does not open WinWord, but displays error message "Please Select File to Play"

I just verified that I can write tag info to MP3 files but still cannot write tag info to WMA files.  Anybody else having this problem?

JLee, check the reply from the last build.  Thanks.

(basically we couldn't reproduce it, so maybe start a thread with some more details)

Doubleclicking on an imported WinWord file does not open WinWord, but displays error message "Please Select File to Play"

It's Send To > External > Default Editor -- not double-click.

BUG:

If the "My Documents" Folder has been redirected to another folder, it does not appear under "My Computer". I see only "Common Documents" and "My Networks", but no "My Documents"

NICE-TO-HAVE:

There should be a preset column header for Office files. Right now the preset column header for Audio is used!

Confirmed.  It'll be fixed tomorrow.

A minute ago you asked if anyone could reproduce, and I can't (apparently you now could, funny), but when I was testing I d-clicked and resized the 'rating' column and it shrunk down to only show 3 stars, even though most of the files in that list have 4/5 star ratings.

Mc is crashing Win playen a burned DVD, Or if I'm Tryen to make a copy of a DVD that's not copyed protected I'm getting a error staten. Error trying to add the following files to device (0x61136950):\DVD Title 1 (18 chapters).dvd;1 Note: Make sure you aren't trying to add internet streams. I never tryed to burn a DVD or copy a non-protected DVD with MC before so I dont know if this just started or if it's been doing this for a while. No big deal I have other software for this but after updating to this .97 V. I had a DVD I was working on, and was think  Let see if MC can copy it. But cents it can't play it or burn it I post this problem to see if any one else is having this problem with already burned DVD's .

I've reported this before but haven't seen a reply.

When pressing F11 to cycle from Standard View->Full Screen->Theatre View, I'm presented a menu for Theatre View.

I'd like to go directly to Playing Now like the way I remember MC 9.1 worked.

Also, in Theatre View when the last song on the screen is finished in thumbnail view, the Play icon disappears off the screen when the next song starts.  It would be great if the screen refreshed by advancing to the next page.

How the heck do you use this feature? How do I get .doc, etc to show up in MC?

You can navigate anywhere on your computer using the "My Computer" view under "Drives & Devices."

You can also import files and set up data view schemes if you want to get fancy.

I think we're going to add a delay so that cover art isn't displayed unless the video is slow to load ( >3 seconds ).

Still no delay fix of (3 seconds) for cover art pop ups on videos.

I'm having problems with playlists - there seems to be a "sticky" selection which gets played regardless of which file is double clicked.  Right click / Play sometimes works and Right click / Default Editor always works.

When you link or remove the cover art and MC updates: After the update it say's can not update the files du to .........  Now that's weird in itself but, the files have been updated... I remeber this was a problem in the past...

Also when you are updating files and the Now updating box shows up, sometimes it's a small nice little box and sometimes it's full screen... What's up?

I thought it was really unique.

Please post your system info. Are you burning a data or audio mode CD? How many tracks? Does it show the first track for the entire burn process?

Thanks,

I'll cast my vote for the left justified menus.  Thanks for making the change.

Next, how about the distracting left side of the pull downs? (bevel part).

Maybe this idea can help: Make the shading at the left very narrow so that you are not changing color when you get to the first letter of the text.  This would keep the look of the skin, but make the pulldowns easier to read.

Could you start a thread and give some more details about what types of files are in the playlist, and what double-click mode you have set in Options?  Thanks.

I just tried purchasing version 10 from build 97, but every time I use "Buy Media Center" function, I get an error "Failed to initiate Media Center purchase." I was running a registered version of 9.1 until last night. XP Pro SP1 with all current patches. Someone should check if this is specific to my machine or is a problem with this build.

On a side note, I really like v. 10. The ability to select just one type of media and have the rest disappear from the tree, and then just having media-specific actions in the Action Window, are a huge improvement. This in itself is worth the upgrade price, in my opinion. One thing that you guys might want to consider for 10.1 is adding a separate data section as well, for such things as Word docs and pdfs, which would make MC a truly universal media and document library. Within this unit double-clicking should open the default application for the file type. Just a thought. Great job with v.10 overall.

Double click on the crosshairs in a view will crash MC everytime

I get the same thing--assuming you are talking about putting the mouse cursor right between two column headers, then double clicking in an attempt to auto-size the column to the left of the cursor.  MC crashes on me every time when I do that.  This is on WinXP.

Hi,

In TV mode, the country code 30 for Greece doesn't work. I get this error message: "PlaybackEng: put_CountryCode failed. Cannot set up TVTuner. Code 0x80070057".
When I use Germany's country code 49, however, everything works just fine....
Please either remove Greece from the list of countries, or make a note to use Germany instead. Anyway, we use the same system PAL B/G.

Thanks George
